The prompt we were given for this assignment was "Why I Write." The paper itself consisted of just that: an essay detailing the reasons behind why we write.

My automatic response to conflict is to run away from vulnerability and to hide beneath a veneer of composure. This essay explores how writing is an act of stripping that veneer away. In the process, I uncover, and thereby discover, who I am.
